Hey guys,

I've been lurking on the forums once in while, but I'm ready to get my '65 Coronet back on the road so I have brake questions...

I'm updating the front brakes from late-70s sourced small discs to Wilwoods on 11.75" slotted rotors (from the MoparAction conversion article - http://www.moparaction.com/tech/archive/disc-calipers.html) New aluminum master cylinder and two-bolt power booster.

Got me thinking I should update the 10" rear drums too. (I don't have the scratch to buy a conversion kit right now. I might try the Scarebird plate later, but putting GM calipers and Ford rotors on the car makes me itchy...)

I just want to max out the existing drums. I'm going to buy all new hardware (springs, adjusters, etc.)

Someone just posted recently about recommended shoes for their '65 (= Raybestos.) But I was wondering if anyone has updated their rear drums to later-model finned versions and/or semi-metallic pads? (Does anyone even *make* semi-metallics for drums?)

Any help is appreciated!

Later,
Max

Thanks Dennis!

Unfortunately I didn't hear back to my post for a while so I went ahead and ordered all the rebuilding hardware through RockAuto. (I've got the week off next week to put this all together, so I needed to get the parts.)

I went with Raybestos finned 10" drums from late-70s/early80s Mopars (Cordoba, Diplomat, etc.) I also found an aftermarket place BrakePerformance.com that supplies semi-metallic shoes for a variety of applications.

I'll let you guys know how it works out...
