I have located an A Body 8 3/4 rear end. I am wanting to use it for my 440/727 swap in my 72 charger. Will it fit right in? Or modifications will need to be done?

You'll have to move your spring pads out for it to bolt in.....and then you will most likely experience tire rub on the springs. The drum to drum widths is like 6" difference between the two rears.

Spring perch location?? Small wheel bolt circle?? Which pumpkin casting? Use the 489 or 742 with a 440.

No it's not a bolt in.The A body 8 3/4 will be the narrow one from the factory.72 is about the widest they made. Measure the spring pad distance of the two.I did this swap on a 72 GTX BUT the car was tubed and springs were moved inboard.

The A-body is 57-1/8" wide and your 72B is 63" wide.
A-body perch is 43" and your 72B is 47.3"
A-body will have the small bolt circle and your 72B is LBC.

Sell that A body housing for the big bucks they seem to command- up to $500.

...and find an E body unit that folks can't seem to give away- as low as $100.

it's a MUCH closer match to the super hard to find 71-74 B (within an inch IIRC)
