rear end leak

Anyone ever have their 8 3/4 rear end leaking its fluid out of front where it meets the pinion yoke? And what do I need to replace to fix?
It is a 489 housing in 1970 Road Runner. Thanks

Pretty simple really Just take the nut off the yoke. Pull off the yoke and pry out the seal. Then just tap in the new seal,a little grease on the seal lip will keep it from burning up and leaking. Then bolt the pinion yoke back on

Yes, but you must be careful not to over tighten the pinion nut because the 489 rear end has a crush sleeve for pinion bearing pre load. Too much or too little preload is not good.
