Can anyone tell me where the rear lap belts mounting holes should be in my 64 2 door hard top? I have new belts and a new hardware kit but not sure where the holes go.

Most of those car did NOT come with rear seat belts. If you have dual exhaust, you can use one of the bolt holes for mounting and will need to drill 2 more to complete the install. I mounted mine down by the curve of the pan as it starts to rise up. Sorry, I don't have any pics.

I agree with 5.7 Hemi. Seat belts weren't a requirement in the back seat back in 1964, and even up front I think they were still optional equipment at that time. I've got my '64 Convertible apart (ie... seats and carpeting totally removed) and there are pics of my ongoing restoration of it here on FBBO under a different thread. Take a look at what I've posted, it might help you decide where you need to drill holes for your belts in your car. I can also take & post add'l pic's of the rear seat/floor area of my car pretty easily for you - just ask. I can't recall but there may even be 'dimples' or some other signs in the floor pan indicating where the belt holes should be drilled.

Same thing with my 63, no rear belts and no bolt holes. Also my interior was red and white from the factory but my front belts are gold which do look like they are original.

Here are my belts. It was cool when my kids were little.... I had two baby seats buckled in the back seat.

I have a 65 Belvedere that has the optional rear belts, but I don't if they are the same as the 64. They don't bolt to the floor. There are two eyelets where the belts connect. One on the inner fender wheel and the other on the floor below the cross brace. I'll try and get a picture.

I think rear belts weren't mandatory til 66'.

Right on. Almost looks like the centre ones are close to where the trans hump would be at the bottom of the brace. I have a 5 and a 7 year old who have suddenly decided they want to go cruising with me which is pretty cool. I have new belts and a hardware kit. Thanks for the pics.

I have the original bill of sale from 65 for my Belvedere. I seen they paid extra for the seat belts. That was funny!

It's common practice to install rear belts where none were before. Just be sure to use large, thick fender washers on the underside and for extra measure, grade 8 bolts!
