Hi all. Hoping for some help on this for my newly acquired '67 Coronet R/T because every search combo I try turns up nothing. First, does the big trim panel between the headlights have a name? And does anyone know of a repro replacement? This is the one with the tightly spaced vertical lines. I am assuming this should be chrome coated with maybe black paint in the recesses. Is that correct? A previous owner painted the darn thing a flat silver and it looks like hell with all kinds of bumps and unevenness. If no replacement, does anyone know of a place that might recondition such a part? I assume it is plastic and probably quite an involved process. Thank you!

Huh. That should not say headlights. The rear. Panel between the taillights.

OK the rear panel is not reproduced so if yours is in descent condition then you will need to have it stripped and rechromed. After it is chromed you will need to tape the fins and scuff and paint it. You can see the way I did mine in the projects and restoration section 2 or 3 pages back under Project R/T. There are a couple in the for sale section if yours is damaged but they are pricy.
