On my '66 Coronet 500 hardtop, it has always been hard as hell to get the rear windows open and closed. I have to hold the glass and crank up or down on both the quarter windows. If no assist is provided, the cranks make noises, but very little movement. Obviously, it's time for new rollers and lube on the window mechanisms, as a bare minimum. I've had the fronts apart a few times on a few B-bodies I've had over the years, but never a rear.
The question is: Should I need to remove either regulator if there is a need to, does the regulator come out with the forward portion up and out first (once the glass is removed), or does it come straight up and then out? I know the trim panel comes off first, of course. Does a Belvedere window regulator interchange with Coronet? I have a pair from either a '66 Coronet or a '66 Belvedere, don't remember which, that I've had for spares for many years...might need to use one or both.
