I am back into a Mopar, a 65 Belvedere II hardtop. I need to know how to remove the trim from the back glass. Looks like someone replaced the gasket, but when they installed the trim, they got the pass side trim too far to the center of the car and the part that goes under the side piece won't stay down. The whole piece of trim needs to be moved about 1/2 inch, so it can be tucked under the trim piece that comes down from the roof. I'll try and post a pic.
Thanks,
Daryl (cwmoss)

Looks like the seal itself slipped out of place, at that curve in the glass. Probably why the rubber is sitting that high. Might be tough getting it back into place, without re-setting the window.

Got a service manual? Should show the tool used to slip the trim out of the clips. They are around the outer edges of the trim.

I am probably gonna just take the rear glass out and put a new gasket back in. I don't see any clips. I do have a service manual, but haven't made out what they were trying to point out.

I removed mine by gently prying out on the trim. just enough so you can see the clip. Don't force it. Then I used a small screwdriver to release the clip from the trim.

Clips are screwed into locations around the body frame, at the outer edges of the trim. Those clips just have a small tab that holds the trim in. All the thin tool does is allow it to slide between the body and trim, to 'raise' the tab, releasing the trim. Just take your time working it off. As furyus says, gently.

Thanks guys. A friend has one of these tools I think. I am gonna be seeing an "old timer" who did glass work back in this era.

I was wondering if the front window is the same process. I was told there is a trim removal tool and a glass removal tool as well. Planning to install Lexan.

The front and back glass are held in by the gasket and the trim has clips which are screwed in at different spots around the glass. The back glass gasket just sits on a channel so to speak and the glass sits in the gasket channel and just pops in, no biggie there. The front glass gasket sits on a channel and the glass sits in the gasket, but it is locked in by the gasket itself and can be a b!tch to get the upper corners of the glass in the gasket channel. So take your time and I would suggest using a new front gasket, the rear, unless damaged will be good to use again.

Got any pics of the front clips ? thanks

Front clips I found out are a different type
