I ordered a seal kit, and have the pump out of the car. Any tips for success please!

Its actually really straight forward. The biggie, the wingdings....inspect the motor very carefully. If its just the seals....its a snap. Check your mounting grommets too....they make new ones for cheap....

My old motor was a real mess with fluid flooding into the motor and go figure it still worked albeit slow and with a groan. I cleaned it up and put in new seals, brushes were still around 50% so left them be. Note to re-install the reservoir correctly - I had it rotated 180 and had to correct that. If you haven't considered, do a complete system flush and install new hoses if they look crummy. About 2 years later got a new motor, hoses, and use power steering instead of brake fluid.
