Like red72, I cleaned mine up, and used a flat aluminum shade of color. I was happy with the results...I just cleaned mine up good and went with some silver.

The problem with that stuff is that it takes a while longer to cure over normal rattle can paint. Let it cure for a day or two.
Your tail light housings look great. How did you deal with the pitting in the metal?I used the mexican chrome to restore my tail lights. Came out great.

That's pretty much what I used, except it was polished aluminum tape, but I've always wondered if it would be brighter by using crinkled aluminum foil to create many reflective facets. Might try that one day if I get bored.Want to get really reflective material? Sticky backed chrome wrap cut it to fit.
