Remembering the 60's

That was very cool old walk back thru time

Thanks there KD, That was neat, so many things i forgot about, but one in particular that made me smile was the private phone line, I remember when you picked up the phone to use it and had to make sure one of the neighbors weren't talking with someone else! Times sure have changed...

Great video. Brings back my childhood days. Here's a few of my memories:

Remembering when my Dad got back from his second tour in Vietnam,

Watching the moon landing in school,

Seeing the war protestors in D.C. *my dad was stationed at Walter Reed

Seeing Dodge Daytonna and Super Birds driven on the street as everyday drivers

Getting our first 13" Color TV

Begging my little sister to watch Batman and Robin, (orginal with Adam West and
Bart ward) or Speed Racer, instead of new that new show Sesame Street.

Being on the tarmac to greet the released POW's from Vietnam

Being scared that our President (Richard Nixon) was being impreached

Remember watching "Laugh-in" and hearing Sammy Davis say, "Here comes the Judge"

You addressed your neighbors as Sir, or Mr/Mrs (last name)

Teaching was an honorable profession, and parents took responsiblity of actions of their children while at school, was your homework was reviewed by them.

Saying the Pledge of Alligance the everyday at the begining of school day.

Sang Christmas songs at school, and you could say "Baby Jesus", instead of the new PC of "Little Baby", or calling it Holiday songs.

Being able to Smoke on planes, and getting to choose a magnezine from the Stewardess, (not Flight Attendance)

Makes me wonder if in the last 40 years, if we have progressed as a society.

Oh let's not forget when if was popular for women to burn their bra's in protest for ERA.

Thanks for the memories!!! Definitely a special time for me to remember as I grew up in the 60s. There is a lot of truth to the last statement that "the 60s was the beginning of the end" - for many things that had made the contry great in the previous decades and the start of many new things that have brought us to where the country is today.....

My favorite years were from 66-71. I got my license to drive in 67 and never looked back lol but I was sure freaked out about Nam. My draft number was 105 and yup, I got drafted but managed to slide into the AF in 71. Thought I was going to get by it because everyone I knew with 105 and last name starting with a B were gone. Also, only had one month to go before tuning 20. Oh well...nothing like spending your birthday in basic training!
