Remove steering column of a 72

need help taking off my steering column. Don't see the roll pin so shouldn't it just come out of the gearbox? Column shifter - is there any linkage I should disconnect?

Appears the roll pin is in place in one of those shoots. It is hollow but looks like it's there, will need to punch it out,
 
As as for linkages just remove the coat hanger in that picture that's it !
 
Does it matter which way I knock it out? Is the pin reusable or where can I get a new one?
 
yes, either way will work.

Although is advised to be replaced actually it is reusable

it gets a master spline, so consider that when reinstalling

I guest can be somehow stuck for the years getting dirt. Maybe WD-40 can help.
 
You got the bolts out of the column base plate?
