I have a 1973 charger and I having trouble getting the dash out weather in pieces or whole slowly but surely I am taking nuts and blots out but im sure there is a easier way than what I am doing please any help would greatly appreciated

I removed the windshield for my 66. I don't think that I would have been able to get it any other way. Time vs money. You'll fight to get it out and fight to get it back. If the windshield is original, maybe that gasket should be changed anyways. I think that they are about $90, how many hours will you work at it and what's your time worth?

I recently removed the dash in my car. It's a 68, but i'm sure they're similar. You probably have most of this done already. But this may help. First, make sure all wiring connections are disconnected. Main harness, cig lighter, overhead light, etc. And the speedo cable.Next there should be two bolts through the bottom edge, under the steering column. Holding the dash to the column support. As well as two bolts through the same bottom edge that attach to two steel rods supports. One on each side. Then its a matter of removing the screws which go through the back edge, next to the windshield. Mine had a thick bead of sealer inbetween here, & it took some tugging. When it comes off,it sort of peels off from top to bottom. At this step it's best to have someone help pull & hold it. Or it can all come loose & fall at once,,, like mine did lol. Hope this helps.

I would add....just loosen the two bolts that secure the dash frame to the A-pillars (above the kick panels). The dash frame is 'slotted', so the bolts will hold it while you remove all of the screws along the 'back' edge of the dash (along the bottom of the windshield). You should be able to tilt the entire dash frame forward towards the front seats (it's a lot easier if the steering wheel/column are loose/removed). You can then reach nearly all of the connections holding the dash to the body. once everything is lose, 2 people can lift the entire dash frame off the two loose bolts and out of the car.

Constantly check for any wires you may have missed as you do so.
