Removing Steering box on 67 w/ 440

Any hints/tips/suggestions on removing the steering box on a 67 with a 440 hopefully without dropping the exhaust.

#1 Tip: If you have impressionable children keep them out of ear shot.

You didn't say if you have manual or power steering or what type of exhaust. Hope you have manual steering, otherwise this is tougher. Unlikely if you have headers.

The roll pin to the steering coupler shaft can be tough to get out. You need a long punch and big hammer. Drop the center link off, separate it and and push it out of the way. Disconnect hoses if you have power steering. Take the steering box bolts out and see if you have enough room to pull it out. Engine mounts can be disconnected and the engine raised for a little more room if needed.

You might also have to take out the torsion bar and/or starter.

After you get the roll pin out you need to loosen the column plate on the inside of the car and pull the whole column back from the steering input shaft spline.
You likely have to pull the starter but I don't think you need to remove the torsion bar.
If you have headers you're in for a long day.
