removing steering wheel horn

I have a 65 Satellite. I have removed my steering wheel several ties before but can't now. No matter how hard I push down, I can't get the horn ring to turn. Has anyone had this happen before and has anyone got any suggestions? Thanks

be patient I guess .... The horn ring on my '65 coronet would sometimes pop off in a sharp turn if my hand was grabbing one of the spokes !

On a 66 Satellite you push in on the ring at the 7 oclock position and then turn the ring.
