removing what is left of vinyl top

should i use any special to finish taking the ragged top off. the car is a 69 rr. thanks

All i did when i got done tearing the old vinyl off my 69RR was take 80 gritt sandpaper with a hand sander and sanded it down then sprayed it with primer till i could get the time to work on it properly. You might have to go a little coarser depending on how serious rust you find under the vinyl.I know my windshield posts have some serious rust problems.

Getting all the rust off is the biggest thing, If the top is off any residue and rust try a wire brush wheel they can be a help along with da sander..
