I'm looking for advice on what paint to use for repainting the dash for my 69 charger. I already removed it from the car. The car isn't going to be judged in shows so I don't what it to be a huge project but I do want it to be durable and look correct. What did everyone use?

The original paint is called suede finish, which means it has some texture to it. The SEM stuff is good and may be a close match to the 9347 black. Hmm, I'm thinking if I got that code correct.

The technique if you don't have the texture additive is to put the last coat on dry to simulate texture. This is what I did and it comes out very well.

unless you are trying for a concorse resto, why not just go with satin black.i just use a good quality paint and shoot several coats.

Another route, SEM also makes a spray texture you lay on before the paint, but as Meep pointed out, back the gun/can up a bit and dust it with a dry coat. If you use a gun, steping up to a 2.0 needle may also help the texturing along with the dry coat.

Good to know. Thanks!

My Scamps dash is green, but I just gave painters supply the paint code and it came back with the suede in it. You can also get the paint put into in a rattle can. I have never used the SEM stuff, but I hear it is good quality. Good luck.
