I was looking to replace my stock intake on my 70RR 383 with something that will still work with my air grabber system. I have read that people usually modify things under hood, but I do not want to go that way. I herd that the old DP4B-Mopar intakes were pretty close to stock height, but not sure. Any one have ideas of what works or measurments for intakes? Basically stock motor build, but not sure what specs are. Not looking for any thing radical, just a good replacement aluminum intake with better flow.

The DP4B is slightly taller than the factory intake but not by much. But may I suggest that the factory intake is not holding you back as much as you may think. If you pay attention to the cam and compression balance you can get a lot out of an engine. For the 383 adding a set of 915 heads is a relatively cheap way to add compression assuming your pistons are not above the deck (zero is OK). If the engine is together and you don't want to mess with it then upgrading an otherwise restrictive exhaust and doing some advance curve twaeking may be more of a gain than an intake bolt on.

the weiand 8008 would be a closer fit. i like the dp4b but doubt it will fit an air grabber with a 383 air cleaner base. a 440 air cleaner base would be a better fit with dp4b but they're hard to find.

i wouldnt touch a THING...if you have a stock 383 and not all hypo'd out...an intake is not going to do you much of anything ....except maybe look prettier.....for a while.

The Weiand 8008 and 8009 intakes were originally made for Mopar to be service replacement intakes. At least that is what I read. Hope this helps.
