Replacing seat cushion on a Charger

I have a pretty worn out cushion in my 1968 Charger. Driver side, bucket seats. The upholstery is in great shape but the cushion is to the point where it is disintegrating itself onto the carpet.

Is this fairly straight forward to replace? Any special tools, dos and dont's, etc.?

I haven't really looked for a past thread.

Not hard really. Need hog rings and hog ring plyers. Plus the cushions of course. Once the seat is out, from the bottom you will see how its attached

What hemi rebel said but the pliers arnt needed I bought a set and hated them went back to regular pliers good luck

Pretty simple process actually. First remove the affected seat. Then remove the hog rings holding the vinyl to the frame. You will have listing wires that run through the center of the seat so don't forget those when removing the hog rings. After the seat cover has been removed you can get a better idea of how much decay has occurred on the seat foam. If it is in an isolated portion and the rest of the cushion is still pliable, you can cut out the rotted portion and then fabricate that portion and glue it in. Requires some ability to model and cut/trim but it doesn't have to be perfect once the seat skin is reattached as no one will see it. You can get foam at most upholstery shops both auto and furniture in pieces at reasonable prices. All that being said, if the cushion is too far gone or you would rather opt for a simpler approach, Legendary Interiors will carry the foam cushions you will need. Only draw back is that the are sold it sets of 2 so it looks like maybe that would work out better in the long run. Just take your time which ever way you go and remember that there are a ton of answers and help here for you....cr8crshr/Tuck
