I'm sure this has been discussed before, but does anyone reproduce lost/misplaced dash vin tags? I have the title and the car has the matching core support and drip rail numbers. Thanks.

You will have to jump through some hoops.

That is correct. There has to be a GOOD legal reason for him to make one and it will have to be supported by properly executed state forms from the state your car is titled in. Check with him first and he can tell you what he needs. Some state do not allow an original looking V.I.N. tag under any circumstances and he should be able to tell you that.

What happened to your original one? Unless you have a very valuable old car it is generally not worth the cost and MUCH cheaper to just have a state issued replacement tag done by your local DMV office.

Do you mean the trunk lip number? I did not think they started putting them in that location until 1968. I am assuming that the car you are refering to is a 62 per your screen name.
