ok. so i have a 1969 gtx clone. i have had the car since around 2001-2003. i am getting it re-media blasted after getting screwed the first time around by a body guy working on it. i am going to get the body work finished so it is in primer, but here is my question. i have the opportunity right now to get into a new srt challenger,so do i go new or redo the '69 like i want it and daily it? i know it is cooler to go with the old car,but the challengers sure are nice!

personal preference imho. If the cost is going to be about the same for both cars, Id go with the Challenger for sure. A clone is a clone, and I have a feeling the SRT8 Challengers will hold their value quite well. Plus the fact they are cool as hell, come with warranties, and are brand spankin new in every way. Maybe you can do both. Store the GTX for a later date. Get the challenger, enjoy it, then when $$ allows redo the GTX for a fun weekend car.

Just my .02

I have asked myself the same question. Keep my 'runner, or trade it in on a new Challenger or a used Viper. It sure would be nice sometimes to have fuel injection, air conditioning, cruise, etc. My car is a toy only and not a daily driver, though. Another option for you to think about - find a beater daily driver and do your 69 right.

If your going to drive it everyday and need Ac or heat then I'd go for the challenger my friend bought a srt8 this summer and loved it but we both would rather drive my car. So If were me I'd go with the 69' I'm only 19 but I'm tired of tuners and seeing the same model cars all day long. It's so much fun driving a car that everyone notices.

i hear ya! that is cool of you since you are 19,i am 40! there is hope!! we have like 8 vehicles,so no shortage of **** to ride/drive. i can't have both like said above because i need the cash from the '69 to get a challenger if i go that way. i have my '71 duster to tear up the roads, although i would with the challenger also,so it would sit in the garage alot. i don't want to drive it to work much with my job also. beyond that, when it did get driven,it would get the **** run out of it!

Honestly in my opinion if you have to ask this question you need to buy the new car.

You wont have near as much fun in the new challenger
-you may even rack up a few young punk nods here and there....
But the muscle cars get the respect and will be worth way more in the long run.

Just my opinion if it were me. If you need it as a daily driver, go with the Challenger. I doubt you want to throw that kind of money into a resto only to wear it out, drive it in the rain and start the crud and rust process all over again. Dependability is also a big issue. The best part of your issue is....... you can still do the GTX. Just takes a little longer, that's all.

It all depends on how far you travel for your job. If its not that far then go with the gtx. If you put a ton of miles on it everyday then go with the challenger for all the creature comforts like air , heat, power stuff, good tunes,AND 425 h.p.! If the jobs close go with gtx! I agree you would get more looks with the gtx but I still check out every new challenger that goes by so you will get some attention either way.
