What are the best manuals to get for 1968 GTX? I used Haynes manual for Corvette's, however Haynes does not offer one for my car on there web site.

I second the recommendation to obtain a FSM (factory service manual) for these cars.
I prefer an actual printed version, whether an original or a reprint - both can be found
online.
The FSM is quite useful and a good place to start anything on these cars from.

WoW! I didn't know that it was a free download! Thanks again.

FYI, there's a big difference between a service manual and an assembly manual.

I was unable to find any assembly manuals for my Coronet. I easily found 3 for my 69 El Camino.

On the Coronet, I had to resort to taking photos of how everything came apart, asking questions and reading several build threads on FBBO.

Definitely try to get a real printed version. I've got a real FSM (1969), and a 1966 version which came on a CD disk. The scanned quality is poor, text is ok but the drawings are useless.

Thanks for the reply. I will give it a look.
I found the site, thanks for the info. Do you have any recommendations on decoding the vin tag? I have found a couple of sites, but they were not very helpfull. I am also having a little trouble getting used to this forum thing. How do I ask a question other than responding to an existing post?

Decoding information can be found on the same site, mymopar, just in a different section. Try this link

If you mean, how do you ask a question on this forum, just like you did for your initial question here, unless you asked it in the wrong section and a moderator moved it here. Just to recap for you, go to the section of the forum that you want to ask the question in, in this case you are in the 1968-1970 Mopars section, at the top right hand side of the section you will see an orange box that says "Post New Thread", click on that, type your thread title in the long, single line, rectangular box and type your question or topic in the larger rectangular box and then click on the orange box that says "Create Thread". I hope that helps.
