hi guys,
i took the tank out of my 63 fury parts car; zero dents, and under the undercoating, the zincklayer looks like new. On the top it has some surfacerust. The inside of the tank was full with 20 year old gasoline and 2 pounds of carbon residue...
Is it possible to separate the 2 halfs, clean it and get it in the same zinck-colored finish again?

thanks for all the input!!

Sincerely, Marcel

possibly....but you can get a new one on ebay for 135 american dollahhhhhhh. not sure what that translates into netherland dollars tho

You can clean your original by putting a chain inside and filling with solvent or soap or?? and slosh it around. I used the Zep purple soap. The chain will help break loose the muck. A buddy and I did it to my 67 Ranchero.

Then once it's spotless, get this-

Have used it on several motorcycle tanks, the results are spectacular. The tank will be impervious to all but a direct meteor strike, and even then, I wouldn't want to be the meteor. Just follow the directions to the letter, and be patient once it's drying.
