Return Springs

How many return springs have to be on a 69 383 Coronet. Has an 4bbl Edelbrock carb.
And where are they placed. I see only one and think there has to be two?!
Whats the right configuration??

Here's my set up:



1969 Super Bee, 383 Edelbrock 4 barrel.
Single kickdown linkage tension spring, dual return spring.

Could you send a close up of the second spring that is missing in my setup??

The second spring is a smaller diameter and is inside the larger one.
Unless you mean the kickdown return spring?

you should have a second spring going to the trans kick down.

Think the kick down Return spring is missing?! What effect does it have, especially on the tranny?

Could the missing spring cause a hard shift from second to third gear??

Oh yeah if your kick down is not set up right it could be bad for the trans, it needs to be set up per the FSM if possible, mine is aftermarket so I had to do a trial and error until it was right.
