Reverse switch location

Attached is a pic of what i think is the back up switch. On the column of my 68 coronet. I am changing to console auto. I read a forum that said on the console shift, the reverse switch is mounted on the shifter itself. Is it the same switch ? All i see in catalogs is this style switch. Where , exactly does it mount ?
