cutting to the chase: College student in Automotive Engineering program, LONG ISLAND, NY, looking for a project car. I'm a big guy, so B-Bodies are naturally the vehicle of choice. I know Mopars don't go cheap (Dad's got a '74 'cuda), but I'm looking for something I can work on while in school.

I was working 2 jobs this summer, but I lost one. Looking for another one as of now so I can put some more money away for a mopar project. My landscaping job pays the bills alright, but doesn't give me a lot to play with.

Mostly looking for projects without massive rust problems. Drivetrain doesn't matter either- I have a 360 motor and 727 trans on a pallet in my driveway, ready to toss into any roller. Preferred console-car, but that's not a major concern. I like pretty much all chargers/road runners, '68-'74-ish.

Let me know what you've got and a price and I'll see what I can do in a PM. Remember forum rules, no phone numbers or emails in the thread! (that drives me and the admins crazy!)

Like I said, low income, but if it's out of my price range, I'll come out and say it. **I WILL NOT low-ball you and waste your time**

Thanks for reading!

Dodge Charger

You should post your price range.

A 68-70 will start north of $5,000 and it will be rusty/missing a lot of parts.

Congrats for loving these cars and wanting to work on them; I had to work my way through College too :headbang:

Yeah, I suppose a DESIRED Price range is $500 (REAL Crap box, but workable...maybe lol) to around $15,000 (Don't have that kind of money yet, but who knows).

In all honesty, I'm good at saving money, it's just with these bills (student loan, car insurance, phone, etc.) it's tough to KEEP money. I have reached the point where I don't really go out anywhere with friends because I'm saving for ANOTHER car... to which my friends shake their heads lol

There's a guy with a '69 Roadrunner 440 4 speed, red with an air-grabber up the street from me and he'll occasionally put it out on a sunday afternoon with a for sale sign just to see what he gets. he's done that for a few years. Dad called last year and he said it was something like $18,000. I'm thinking now it's around the same, MAYBE $15,000 at the lowest, but I don't really want to call when I don't have that kind of cash to offer.

Just a thought, I'm 6'6", 290lbs. A 69 Dart Swinger fits me great! I made a shifter handle to accomodate my long legs and also put a torch on the hatchet handle (pistol grip) on my GTX to get it out of the way of my knee. A Dart's going to be a whole lot cheaper than a B body. If you like them..........

Twinscrew, i don't recall getting a pm from you...

Yeah I liked the darts for a while, but it kinda passed. They don't excite me.so much anymore. Late 60's cudas are the only a bodies I have a thing for. B bodies are exciting to me, so we'll see. Talking to anothrr member who's selling a road runner now too.

car for sale

I have a 69 bee for sale it is a 383 auto post car doesnt have a lot of rust $ 9.500

I'm recieving much more attractive offers than I had even hoped for! I just want to mention, again, that I don't have the money sitting around, so it'll be a while before I can reach a lot of these amazing prices you guys are throwing at me. Thanks a ton for the interest in my post. I didn't expect many responses. I'll be in touch when I have money for a decent offer to bring to the table.

Still looking... a potential deal with a '74 Road runner I was looking at fell through on the seller's end (had to sell local and I can't blame him- he was fair about it)

Looking for rollers that would make good drivers. I have a motor and tranny, so I don't need one (unless somebody's got a car with a nice ol' 4 speed, I may consider that).

Looking for Road Runners, Chargers, 'Cuda's, Challengers, or whatever may be in my range. Hard to tell what my price range is exactly due to bills and school coming up and stuff, but try me anyway.

PM me with details and pics.

*I don't expect a charger for $500... obviously... I would think that would be an insulting/ infuriating offer to someone with a charger. The market isn't friendly in terms of "low budget Chargers"... or mopars in general for that matter. but it's worth putting the word out there.
