Took the Polara for a drive today. When I got home there was a considerable amount of noise coming from the driver side valve train. Wasn't really a tick more like a buzz. Kind of like the sound when the the fan is a little to close to the radiator. I don't know a lot about the motor. It looks good had been rebuilt at some time. Sorry it is a 383. Runs 75 Paige of oil pressure cold. Holds 65 at 2800 rpm. When it is warm, 180 degrees it runs 25 at idle. Anyway I pulled the valve cover off tonight and the rocker arms seem very loose. I pulled the rocker arm off and I can stick a .104" drill bit between the bore of one of the rocker arms and the shaft. The shaft doesn't really have any grooves in it it seems like the bores of the arms are worn. Is this too much slop? Also one of the rocker arms had a wear pattern like this
