"Hello boys, I'm baaack".

Has anyone out there replaced the roof rail weatherstrip on a '63 B body hardtop,
and if so, any recommendations on replacement vendors and also how to get the old one out.
My old weatherstrip is so cracked and torn that I'm not sure how it's installed and
more to the point, how to get it out of the channel. My "guess" is that it's just
pressed or glued in and will eventually come out in about a million pieces.

Thanks.

Hmm,no replies from those that know? Iam not one of them. However my 64 plymouth sedan just got taken apart and if you mean those thick rubber pieces that go round the door frames and have some interior upholstery on them well mine pulled out in one piece. Not sure if they will be reused even though they look like they can. And this is a car that has not seen a garage since 1974. At least and quite possible has never been garaged. I believe my guy soaked em in wd-40 overnight before removal.

hangnout, Thanks for the reply. Yes I'm suprised that a lot of questions go unanswered.
As far as this question goes, I finally dug in and figured it out. I was talking about the
weatherstrip that is for the hardtops that goes into a channel that the door and 1/4 glass rolls up into and seals the tops of the glass. It turns out there is 2 sheet metal screws in the very front of the roof rail that hold the ws in. My weatherstrips were so compressed and weather beaten that it was tough to figure out what was holding them
in. After I got the screws out, there was just a little bit if ws adhesive to deal with and
then the rest just pulled out.
Thanks again.

No problem "kid". Thanks for the attachements. Your originals looked about as bad as mine. I haven't put the new one ( which I got from Metro ) in yet. Waiting to get the headliner in first. My interior moldings are all painted, so that's the job presently. Sand,
primer, paint etc. Thanks again. RR

HangnOut; No unfortunately I don't have one of those manifolds. I had a '65 Coronet
hemi clone a couple of years ago and thought Ratroaster was a good handle. Although
I went with another personalized plate.
