Hi all

Just getting ready to swap the saggy SS springs on our 63 Polara for a better pair, and thought we'd better get some new bushes first...

Does anyone know who supplies rubber leaf spring bushes? We've searched the web for the usual suppliers and only seem to be able to find poly(urethene?) bushes.
I suspect they'll not make that much difference, but we thought we'd try for rubber first as we dont want to make the ride any harsher than it already is!

If we can't get any, we'll get the poly bushes from YR1 as they do all the other bits we need.

Any advice gratefully received :)

Sounds like you have the same rear end that I do. I did away with the rubber all together and eliminated the problem with the shock geometry. First get a set of shock mounting plates for an early rear end. Secondly, make a steel bushing that will fit the opening in the spring perch (assuming you have a perch with the large hole) and drill a 1/2" hole in the center of the steel bushing. Place the bushing on the 1/2" pin on the springs. Now mount the early shock plates and as you tighten the plates up the bushing will be raised into the large hole in the spring perch thus centering the spring. No more rubber to worry about.

I stayed with the stock rubber iso clamps, rubber is in excellent shape, it worked great for me and was less work, better ride and less harshness also
