Hey gents I'm pulling out the gauge panel to take my speedometer to be repaired and I want to drive the car over to the painter. Any problem with running the car with no gauge panel or gauges in there? Other than the obvious problem of not having any gauges to read - I'm not going very far...

I'm SOOOOOO tired of pulling my gauges out!

Thanks

You need to bolt together the ammeter wires and insulate them so as not to short. Other than that, I know of no issues, other than, of course, you won't have any gauges!!!

Since my Ammeter is TOASTED I actually already have those wires connected together. I have been at this gauge repair thing over and over, making progress a little at a time, but I'd be happier if the car had come with the steering column on the right side (LOL) so I could get the gauge panel out easier! Thanks Runner...

I ran My car without any gauges...jumpered the red and black ammeter...isolated them and had no problem except I fell off the bucket I was using for a seat,(removed those also) and almost wasted My car...buckets are NOT stable.....

I drove my car for almost two months with a big gaping hole where the gauges used to be while the cluster was being resto'd. Just go with the flow of traffic and remember to keep the gas tank full.

LOL, I started to do that and fell off the bucket in my driveway..hahahaha so I through a seat in there not bolted down...

I made sure to leave plenty of extra wire while installing my painless harness to my guages, maybe a little much but... hope your guages come out great.
