Hello all! I am currently building a 1969 Charger. There are some issue though and I need some tips and pointers; naturally.
My first dillema being that I need help with is as follows.
I have running lights but no brake lights. The turn signals also work. I checked the brake light switch and the hot is always hot and when I depress the brake I get power to the cold side. I'm needing some help to figure out why this is.
I am also having an issue with my flashers. I have turn signals but no hazards.
Can anyone get me pointed in the right direction? I'd really appreciate it!

Do you hear your flasher relay clicking? Check that....

Do you have the correct bulbs in the brake lights....Are they properly grounding on the sockets?

I do hear the flashers ticking when I hit the turn signals. Nothing when I turn on the flashers. I did just check the socket with a probe and I only got a weak light from it. That's definitely causing me some heartache.

I don't understand what your saying here, please elaborate what you mean by power to the cold side? There's only 1 wire to the switch by the pedal arm. How's the switch itself?

If it is a charger the sockets can be a bear sometimes...I would focus there first and that may solve both issues,,

With park lights and turn signal on, does the signal indicator flash on the dash or does it stay on? If so check the bulbs on the side that stays on, front and back. They are probably good but not properly seated.

Possible t/s switch problem or wiring going to the rear?

Yep, the turn signal switch is the spot where they all come together. Since the turn signals work, the wires to the rear should be OK because they (brakes, turn & flashers) all use the same element.
I'm sure both symptoms are related but sometimes it's easier to concentrate on one symptom at a time. The brake lights would be the easiest because it's the simplest. At the least, it takes the flashers out of the equation.

You have a separate flasher relay by the ashtray....

As old bee pointed out check the wiring to make sure it is intact....a kick panel/sill plate screw didn't get screwed into the rear harness....

on 68/69 the hazzard signal runs from fusebox on pink wire up to hazzard flasher , from there to hazzard switch on Red wire.

Brake light gets also same power source from fuse box on pink wire, then leaves the pedal switch on white wire an is splice to hazzard switch and TS

rear lighting for both are spliced from TS getting the white wire signal ( either from hazzard or brakes since both are spliced on same network ) to rear on brown and dark green

so initially you should be getting power on white wire either from brake pedal or hazzard switch once any of them is activated... if you get that, definitelly the input signal is good and culprit can be very well the TS if dark green and brown are not being powered on these stages
