it appears the 68 coronet trunk lid tail panel and trunk area are more likely to rust out and parts genearlly harder to find than 69s so probabbly more of the 68s were scrapped i have a 68 superbee seldom see the 68s in mags or at cruise ins or shows does anyone have a handle on approximate number of surviving number of the 68 bees

I have a 68 Bee also and there were less than 8,000 (all post)made and if I understand it the car was introduced in late 68 (I was not born until 1973 so....). There were I think around 30,000 69's made that is why there are so many more of them. A lot of the parts are interchangable but there a some differences. I am no expert so someone correct me if I am wrong. Jim

Fester--you have to remember that in late 1968 we were concerned about going fast & often. There wasn't any salt-brine on the roads to just kill everything in a years time. My '68 has more problems with trunk and rear qtr. rusting than anything else. This blasted salt-brine concoction really eats things up in the Midwest, etc. I work as a heavy equip. tech. and this stuff eats thru wiring, etc. quicker than I've ever seen in 62 yrs.
