Just thought I would post this on the forums at the off chance someone is on the fence about using an epoxy on their garage floor.

I put this http://www.rustoleum.com/cbgproduct.asp?pid=16 down a few months ago and I am extremely happy with it.

It comes as a complete kit with easy to follow instructions.

Makes cleaning up oil/fluid spills a breeze. No more permanent ugly stains in the concrete. And this stuff is pretty bullet proof too. I bled the brakes and got brake fluid all over the floor which I didn't bother cleaning up until the next day. There was no epoxy damage from the brake fluid. And that crap will eat though just about anything.

And no... I don't work for them or sell it. :) Just happy with the end result.

Thanks for the imput Brian....Any ideas or word on how it would hold up to welding spatter or something pretty hot in general?

Actually no. I haven't done any welding on it as yet. But now you got me curious!

I used the product about 5 years ago before I restored my Cuda. I don't think the stuff is very durable. It is pretty beat up and worn from working on the Cuda. Floor jacks, engine hoists, etc. scratch the floor easily. The Cuda now leaves tire marks where it gets parked.
The side of the garage where I parked the Jeep is fine. But now I have the Belvedere, I expect that side is going to take a beating also.

That sucks to hear about the durability issues. I can tell you I dragged a big block on a hoist around the floor quite a bit and have had the car on jack stands and the floor jack quite a few times in the last couple of months with no real noticable marks.

But then it is only a couple of months on the floor. So sucks to hear it may not hold up.

Thanks for the link Brian, My brother in law put up a new shop a couple years ago and has been thinking about different things for the floor, The one half of it just houses three restored vehicles, it sounds like durability shouldn't be an issue with that. I sent this to him along with some comments on it. It sure looks good on your floor, i hope you don't have any major issues with it. Very nice RR to!
