Can anyone in the business (sale or repair or both) or with general knowledge of RVs/Campers/Trailers or maybe even own one of these tell me if this is a fair deal?

I find that in my area RVs/Campers/Trailers Quads 4x4s typically go for a little better money (8% or so) than most places, so take that into consideration.

I was going to offer this person $3,800 cash. I seen it in person and it is clean.

Is this a fair deal?

My purpose/intent is to recreationally camp with my wife and 7 year old son and probably my two German Shepherds.

Any input, thoughts advice?

I do like the outdoor shower option on this one.

My budget is under $6,500

Thanks.

Im not in the industry, and have never purchased a camper before, but my .02; that camper looks pretty darn clean.

i would throw the 3800 at them and settle at 4g's.

I've owned a few travel trailers over the past few years. The trailer looks nice but there are a few things I would check.

Verify there are no issues with the plumbing. Hook-up a water hose to the trailer and verify there are no leaks under pressure. 40 PSI max pressure on RV water lines, hopefully the current owner has a pressure regulator for the trailer.

Make sure the AC and heater works. Run it through a cycle and make the sure the thermostat work correctly.

Verify the refrigerator works on both AC power and gas.

Check the roof for any water damage / rot. Even though the roof might look good check really well around all roof penetrations and the skylight. Our last travel trailer had a small leak around the skylight in the shower and I didn't realize for sometime. No visual sign of damage but the layer of plywood under the rubber roof membrane had rot. Check the roof really well. Any roof damage can be very expensive to repair.

Of course check the tires and brakes. I would also ask to do a test pull of the trailer and verify the trailers pulls without issues.

If all checks out buy that thing and have a great time. We have many great family memories camping and our kids still talk about those great times.

What 43tutor said. We bought a clean 1998 small fifth wheel, also a Terry, for a little less than what this guy is asking but I had to put over $500 in brakes. Our Terry is very well built for its size.

Thanks guys. We made many memories in my old school 84 kit pull behind at 22 foot. I sold it when I moved.

I looked at at this thing tonight and it's clean the owners are nice folks and where very honest but the roof had leaked and it was fixed but not properly so I passed. The search continues.

Best advice I can give a perspective RV buyer is to rent one for a few days to see if it's for you. I used to own RVs and 5th wheels and used them a lot, and you have to use them a lot to make the insurance, the increase in fuel cost and all the maintenance required pay off. For a few vacations a year a rental makes more sense to me. Opinions will vary...

Thanks coloradodave but it is for us we were avid campers the past 3 years just had to sell a lot when I moved too much to bring 2900 miles across this beautiful country.

That seems high priced for a 2002 model. It's good you are continuing your search. I've owned two travel trailers and four motorhomes since the early '90s...it's been a long time since I've owned one (2004), though.

Looked at more junk this morning before work. Not sure what the deal is with people. Wish me luck in my search.
