what are the best points on a 70 charger to jack it up with a floor jack?
can you use the cross member? that goes side to side about a ft and a half in front of the rear wheel?
Thanks

any point that looks like frame is good.never jack on anything that looks like sheetmetal or doesnt appear to be a box like structure, you could crush it.jacking near welds is a good safty point as well.

There are some places where you can see that there are more than one or two layers of lamination. I like to use those if possible.

I use two points, one in front, one in back. Lift half the car at once.

Front - center of K-frame (don't get back too far and get edge of jack on the oil pan)

Rear - center of rear differential housing.

These are the more secure places when getting a whole end (front or back) of the car up. When needing to get one corner (or side) up, use the sub-frame...behind the front wheel (as soon as it goes 'flat'), and right in front of the rear wheel (just forward of the forward leaf spring mount).

Thanks People,

I used all of those, except the other day I used the spring perch in front of the rear wheel and now the car leans to the drivers side, I'm paranoid I bent or twisted the frame some how I jounced the car front and back but it still leans

I really doubt that.....Your front spring hanger is mounted by 4 offset top to bottom studs. If something gave there, you would know it. Check the nuts on the backside of the hanger, see if they're loose or something snapped. Your frame rails are to the inside of the spring hanger mount area. Your spring "perch" is the footing surface welded to the rear axle housing that seats on top the leaf springs. My guess is the car needs to settle...take it for a 5-10 drive if you can.

If you raised the car from a single corner, I'm sure the suspension has flexed and the tires are holding the 'contortion' in place. Try rolling the car back and forth a time or two. The suspension will settle and all will look fine.
