Sale order numbers A starting

Im close to buy a 68 charger RT in France...

Fender tag, dash tag, no buildsheet, no bill of sale, body numbers match, engine and trans number match

Factory:
PP1
C6X
Y6

And a lot of interesting option like:

Power windows
Rear defrog
Strip deleted
Tachometer

440 4bbl match
727 match
8 3/4. 3.23 suregrip

She is a w6 Canadian order

And my question is

Why the sale order number start by an A and not buy a number ?
I thinks its because she is Canadian order but im not sure

Hi Tommy France, A picture of the tag would help decode it.
However the A before the order number would designate the plant it was built at. In this case it would be Lynch Rd assembly.

'68 tag... "A" would be an October 67 SPD build date. Here is my '66 with a C15, that is December 15th, 1965

She come from hamtrack, the body stamp say b8xA40950 its normaly hamtrack/1968/charger/sale order

I'm not an expert on order numbers with letters, but certain cars had them, like superbirds, and others. They have nothing to do with assembly plant or SPD.

For 1968 A = built for sale in Canada. Goes with the w/6 code.

1968 Chargers were built only at Hamtrack (all year) and St. Louis (Staring in March 1968) so it cannot indicate Lynch Road plant.
