We went today to pickup our "new to us" '10 Challenger R/T. After finallizing the deal yesterday afternoon with the dealer over the phone, I thought about how I had pampered and babied the '05 Magnum R/T and how I should give it a proper send off as it was being traded in to the dealer. I grabbed my camera and took my gearhead son to a quiet backroad to say goodbye to the Magnum!

:3gears: Appropriate. Couldn't have done better myself.

Was thinking you were giving up an old friend like a dog or a 70 RT Challenger or.....
:D

Pretty cool way to say so long to one Ken, You might want to take that same way home just to introduce the new Challenger R/T.. Tempting i imagine...

Geez, that's on par with a Viking funeral! Good job!

And futhermore...congrats on the new Challenger. I've got an 09 Hemi-Orange TracPac car. 6 thousand miles. It had a slight hemi-tick as others call it. My best friend Mopar pal drove it one day. After a tire smoldering rev-limiter bumping afternoon, the tick went away.

Care for you car. On occasion, take it for a romp. It likes it. Mine runs better than ever.

Looks like Columia Beach Rd to me Ken. Nice burn. Good trade. Enjoy the new ride.

I had never turned the traction control off on the Magnum before. Other then the occasional top end romp, I drove it like I was afraid it would break. When we got it we thought it wasn't ever going to be sold off. Oh well, can't keep em all! Columbia Beach Rd has ditches on both sides, not my kind of road for screwing around on. If you get out to Fishers Station Rd, down by the creek, you will spot the re-striping!

that was a nice magnum...........but a challenger' R/T...also is
ONE NICE CAR! like to see a few "snap shots" (now you know how old I am) of the R/T.

BEST OF LUCK,
Sonny

Very cool sending her off in a proper Mopar manner.... Good luck with you new Challenger

Brings a tear to my eye...a most proper send-off. Kudos!

Warranty? What warranty?

Oh;I hope you cleaned the rubber off the quarter panel before returning it...

in the background is my "old friend", a 1998 Chevy truck I had bought new. I gave it the best care I could for ten years. On four hour hour commutes to my old job, I would get exhausted and sleep on the sides of the road. I'd wake up in pitch darkness, in the middle of nowhere, and with a twist of the key my faithful companion would start and I'd be on my way. I sold it locally and it's still running strong. The second owner still has it, I pass by their job at a local store occasionally and visit my old pal (the truck). Yes it's non-mopar but it was and still is a reliable workhorse of a truck.
