Just delivered my 72 Satellite to the body shop for paint yesterday and I have a question. Did the factory put any type of sealer along the top of the inner fender where it bolts together with the outer fender? It seems to me there should be something there to keep rain water and road dirt from getting into the engine bay. But I don't know. Any help is always appreciated. Marv.

It sure can't hurt. I know the 65s had it. I used a string type in my fenders.

'69's had it. Just keep in mind the factory didn't care about "pretty" when they gooped that stuff in there !!

I've used strip caulk......... the factory stuff sometimes pushes out the top and gets paint on it; if that's the sort of thing you're aiming for
