i have a question about seam sealer . what kind of seam sealer did you use on the drip rails between the roof and door glass ? my was filled from the factory .

also restoring the trunk did anyone put the seam sealer back if so how much did it take and what brand brand did you use ? or just give it the clean look ? alot of it will be unseen due to the trunk mat .

if anyone has pics of both ways that would be great .

thanks RANDY

Randy....

For your drip rail seam sealer, I would use 3M heavy-Bodied seam sealer.

For your trunk I would definitely use a seam sealer...Any little gap/lap moisture can get in, seal it and seal it good. The 3M brushable works ok..kinda thick, but I have much better luck with the Evercoat Brushable seam sealer. Flows better, paintable

3M, SEM and Evercoat also make the standard seam sealer in a caulk tube as well.

Just what has worked for me...........

thanks . i want the trunk to look like it was factory so i will use the evercoat and brush it on .

PROPWASH , can the 3M 8308 be used on bare metal or should it be primmed first ? or should i go with the 8310 ?

That can be applied directly to bare metal Rav440.

"Heavy-bodied, non-sagging, non-flowing, and easy tooling formulation for matching OEM seam sealer appearances. Appropriate for bare metal applications."

the best seam sealer for price and durability is the stuff from napa - i think its their own brand name - works fantastic. I've tried the 3m, not as impressed..
