Hi all,

I installed sound deading mat and new carpet in my '66. I found the seat belt mounting points. The problem is the driver's inside (tunnel) mount. It's the L shaped bracket, but the bolt does not catch on any threads. I tried a longer bold, no different. Is there a capture nut or maybe loose nut on the inside of the L bracket? I think I have the hole in the right spot because it passes through the rear center console.

Also, do these cars have a belt mounting point in the roof for 3 point belts?

Thank.

They did not have any attachment points on the roof. Optional shoulder belts in 67 came from the inside rear seat belt anchor over the front seat. I have never seen one in person and don’t know what the front belt would look like.
The seat bolt should not be going through the console l bracket. If you get under the car you will see where the seatbelt nuts are.

You made me go routing around in my racecar, and sure enough, I hadn't hacked it out. It has a large nut that's fused to the bracket. Yours must be broken off
