Seat belt relay??

Anybody tell me what kind of problems this thing is gonna cause me? It was missing of my firewall when I purchased car, with its plug in wired across.

it's a 74 year thing!!!! sounds like someone has already bypassed the unit- it was used in case you could not start the car if you where buckled up and there was a no start situtation. pressing the red button would allow you to start the car. if you now have to still buckle up to start the car- the rest of the system is still connected. most people disconnect the connectors under the seats to bypass it- but the main electronics are still working!!!

that relay is for the emissions speed unit. if I remember correctly- it only works in top gear for NOX emissions with thermal switch.

if the temp is over 70 F and you are not in top gear the advance for the distributor is not energized.

if the temp is below 70 f, the advance will be operative in any gear!
