Looking for input here I have side covers for 67 rt coronet bucket seat car each side of bucket has metal side cover I believe outer facing door is bigger than the one facing center console tell me your thoughts

Also metal seat backs have a plastic fabric tried hot tanking to remove and media blasting no luck any recommendations?

I believe 67 only had the outer side cover and 66 had both sides.
I have never tried removing the plastic/vinyl from a seat back. If it needs straightening, work it from the backside with a thin soft cloth on the vinyl side so as to not mar the vinyl. If you tap it to hard and need to go to the vinyl side, use the soft cloth between the vinyl and your hammer/dolly with something hard on the inside (metal dolly, or solid wood). Then clean and vinyl dye to correct color.

Sure you can use them, and they will look great if your car has no console or buddy seat. Most 66's I have seen have both sides and the 67's don't, but it may have been the way the cars were equipped that determines the use of the inner covers. It seems that @R413 has the ability to look these things up. You might ask him.

Go for it. I wouldn't try to tell you not to. Also if you think it came with them, definitely put them on.

Not sure about R/T’s. Every 66 b body bucket I have seen has skirts on outer and inner sides. 67 seem to have only outer skirts. These are mainly on Chargers. Don’t know if there was a change from early 67 to later.
Go with Jerry I would say.

In your photo the one on the left looks like the correct part For 66-67 buckets.

The one on the right looks like it is from a different car. The overall shape is taller and a triangle, the slot for the seat adjuster is longer. Also, does it look taller and longer? Or is it just the photo. Are the screw mounting holes in the same places as the other one? I see one the top rear, and that part of the side cover is out away from the seat on a 66-67 bucket So the seat back can pivot forward.

it seems that 1966 cars had both sides and 1967 cars only had outers.

I am going off of what I have seen on cars over the years. I don’t know where to look this up for certain.

413 the bigger cover came with the car I’m thinking of closing the slide opening and using on inner to provide a more finished look sure I do have a console and can fit them also since back covers are not available considering application of textured spray like bed liner to hide the poor condition of backs your thoughts?

Factory these parts have a tight vinyl covering and I’m not sure how to restore it. But yes some sort of textured spray would be good.

I just don’t like bedliner spray on anything besides a truck bed. It is too rough for the interior, trunk, etc. anyplace you bare hands will possibly rub on it.

Greetings: I am an original owner of a 67 Coronet R/T. Jerry is correct, the 67 R/T bucket only has the side panel on the outside. None on the inner.

I have reconditioned two sets seat backs with SEM grain restorer with what I think to be good results. You have to experiment with it because distance and speed of the pass affects the grain size in the resulting pattern. After spraying I lightly sand it with a small block to flatten the the top of the grain nibs and mimic a vinyl material better. Then I stay with an elastomeric viny paint to match the interior color. If black i just use SEM vinyl paint. I work any dings out as Jerry said, from the backside. I have some better pictures elsewhere that show the resulting grain and can post later.

Thank you for this which is a big help might you comment as too which side cover of the two is correct?

Here are the skirts off my 66. I think my 67 has the same outer skirt but as noted above, no skirt on the inside.

Here are some more pictures of the restored seat backs.

Raw texturing sprayed on before sanding to flatten grain pattern

After sanding and color coat. Not a perfect match to the side skirts grain but takes a pretty close look to see the difference.

I think my 67 backs are actually a little better. The SEM spray back then seemed a bit more uniform.
