Seatbelts

Just bought a 67 GTX and no seatbelts. And it looks like it might have never had them in the front. Is that possible?

I do have rear belts.

I am pretty sure it is the original carpet and there are no holes for the bolts.

Was watching a segment on powerblocktv the other day. There was something about 1966 being the first year for federally mandated seat belts...

Front and rear lap belts were federally mandated and standard per the window sticker. Check under the carpet...

Just checked with the second owner of the car and when he bought it the car did not have seat belts. It was his understanding that the car did not come with seat belts from the factory.

They were there, my 62 was an option year and pretty sure they put them in all 64's and 65 mandated them.
