Secondary water temp sender location?

On a 69 SuperBee, 440 motor, presently have electric water temp gage/sender…in the pictures below, the new gage (mechanical) sender is too big for the threaded block hole. But, just above it is a pipe plug, looks like it may fit there. Wanting to know if that plug removed will work for the new mechanical sender? Just hope its deep enough…

Yes. You will need the appropriate bushing ( brass adapter) that should have come with the gauge.
That's where people put them.

A little but but not completely.....

Yes, like stated above. Two of my cars are using earlier water pump housings, but that's the best place for your auxiliary gauge sender.

Deep enough has never been one of my problems.
