Does anyone have any tips on how to remove the temperature sending unit and heater hose outlets on a 440 engine waterpump, mine seem to be seized and i dont wanna break the water pump housing. Thanks

get the area hot with torch or equivalent source then believe or not let a candle melt a little onto the threads. This works because I remove broken bolts all the time at the shop

If you're planning to go all Cro-Magnon on the heater hose outlets with a pipe wrench or some other such implement, do yourself a favor and place a 3/8" (or so) bolt in there first to keep from crushing it.

x2 on the heat/ wax bit as well.

Awsome tip. Thank you. Too cold to head to the shop. Hopefully warms up by the weekend. Thanks for the tips guys

Instead of heating the pump housing, heat the tubes themselves and quench with cold water. I agree to stuff something in the tube to keep it from collapsing. It may take a couple heat quench cycles. My friend that runs a machine shop showed me this. He does a lot of 30's, 40's vintage motors. You'll be surprised how easy it will come out.
