Sheetmetal diagrams?

I don't even know if I have termed that right, Im going to start tearing into my rear finish panel and everything on the backside of my 69 Charger, Is there anywhere I can get a exploded diagram of how every panel laps onto the next so I can study it before I start tearing into it, I have replaced quarters on a Challenger before but it was pretty easy, This Charger looks like everything is lapped between each other? And I know,I know, measure, measure, measure, and I would like to know where I can get a diagram of factory measurements?
Thanks alot guy's my butt has puckered looking at how much sheetmetal is going to cost me! I think I am going to replace just the quarter skins I see there are the AMD and Goodmark? which is better? I am building this car as a General Lee and it's for me! I doubt I will ever sell it unless someone offers me a ridiculous amount of money! And I am not into going to shows and sitting in the heat! I am going to drive this car with the family and enjoy it! Goodmark sheetmetal be good enough? Thanks for any info fellas!
 
Your best reference is your car before you dismantle it! Take tons of digital pics, my camera is with me every time that I work on my car as well as a tape measure and a note pad.

Get the appropriate service manual before you even start tearing the car down. It will have the frame diagrams in the "frame" section.

As far as your factory over lap dimensions, like he said take pictures, measurements and notes of what you already got. There are frame dimentions easily availible out there, but something showing measurements for like the egde of a quarter lip in a jam to the first rise by the stiker, is highly unlikely to surface unless you know someone that had a relative working in the engineering department at Chrysler back then.. Besides, if you're swaping out to a lot of aftermarket sheetmetal like full quarters, those gaps/seam distances are not going to line up identical to the factory specs anyways.. Hell, you should rejoice it the main bulk of the panel lines up right off the bat without any modifications to fit. Nothing is plug and play

Goodmark/AMD..it's a horse a piece. AMD probably gets a bit more praise, but lots of folks go Goodmark as well. Either way, like previously said, plan on making mods to make to make almost any piece of new sheetmetal fit correctly

I would suggust locating a factory parts book for 1969, (they are being reproduced). It carries illustrations of all the sheet metal in exploded type views.
Sheet metal was positioned and welded in a "gate" at the factory and I have never seen a "assembly diagram".​
 
These cars came down the line so fast, and no one car is exactly the same as the one before it, they are close...but, look at the spot welds, each one was placed at the purvey of the operator; wherever they chose to make the contact was where the weld was placed. Today, robots do 'em and each weld is in the same place on each car model.

Take it apart, don't get skins, get full qtrs, they have the trunk area; an area that is often rotted. Plus, skins take a lot more welding than full qtrs do. As Matt said, lots of pictures, tape measure, and note pad.
 
Yeah the more I look at it I think full quarters would be a wise move, I have prior experience with replacing a tail panel, and rear quarter skins and drop offs on a Challenger so I know all the variables in the factory, heck my Grandfather owned a Dodge,Chrysler,Plymouth dealership from 1965 into the early 90's, He told me stories about terrible paint, he said once they had a car come and half the firewall was missing paint so they had to fix it before they sold it, he said they had to go back and fix a lot of stuff just so they could sell them, best one ever was his head service manager told me once they had a car they sold new and the owner brought it back saying there was a rattling noise in it, well after several attempts to fix it they narrowed it down to the transmission, they took it out and apart and he said they found a nut in it with a note attached that said "you found me". He told me for the most part Chrysler products had a huge stigma of being "new junk" OK back to the matter at hand, Does the AMD quarters have the inner sail panel already stamped with the panel?? mine need patched right in the bottom lower corners anyway and if I went that route and if they were stamped I would be ahead, Thanks for any input guys!
