Hi, got my 18 spline 4 speed, quick question... the linkage setup for the shifter looks like the shifter should slip in? I want to put an old shifter in with the bolts, do I need a different setup or just drill the holes out? pic below

What you have there is the iso-clamp OEM shifter handle hardware. The bolt on type with the straight serrations is typically aftermarket Hurst comp plus stuff. The holes in the handle may have eliminated the feature where the metal tab in the iso-clamp would fit, and drilling the linkage won't do it either because you have little to nothing squeezing the handle as the bolts are tightened. What you need are matching components, or see if you have material in that handle to accommodate the metal tang that holds the handle.

Is this a Pistol Grip shift handle and shifter? If so, yes, they had a slip in and a bolt in depending on what year. The slip in can be drilled for bolts.

Whoever came up with the ISO crap for Mopar needs both an ISO shifter AND an ISO leaf spring crammed slam up his *** with absolutely ZERO lubrication......and maybe a little sand dumped in for good measure.
