Shifter Change Out Problem

I converted the original 4 speed shifter in my 69' GTX to a new Hurst Pistol Grip (console). It slips out of 1st and 3rd back to neutral while driving. I even purchased and installed a new shifter mechanism and linkage arms from Brewers, for a 1970 B Body that's made for the conversions. Still pops out of 1st and 3rd. Any way to resolve would be appreciated.

Linkage stops adjusted wrong and not letting the gears to fully mesh....? How was it shifting with the old shifter? If fine, then probably your problem.

I would also think shifter adjustment issues.
