Shifter for 518 OD transmission

I am installing a 518 OD trans in my 64 Belvedere. Will the same after market shifters that work on the 727 work on the 518? Anyone who has used the 518, which shifter have you used?

I put an A-518 into a 78 1/2 ton a while ago, the stock shift linkage bolted right up and worked excellent. IIRC, the factory car linkages require small mods to work and any cable type aftermarket shifter should hook up to the 518 the same as a 727 would.
