shifter throws

Folks .. recent proud owner of 65 belvedere 2 w 833 and 70 model 440 .. and the very long shifter throws that probably came from a charger or a gtx .. long curved shifter .. does anyone know which, if any, hurst unit would bolt on and cut the 12 plus inch shifter travel to maybe in half .. say 6 inches or close to that .. thanks for any info passed on ... gilhooley

that long shifter handle was correct in that year, you can go to hurst web site , they show all the handles and lengths, and pick out the one you'd like better and order.

I have this shifter in my super bee. When i got the car it had a 70 tall pistol grip shifter that was sloppy as can be. I put in the hurst competition shifter and couldn't be happier. I love the look. I love the position of it. Its a bench seat car and it sits perfectly next to my right leg.

Droping the linkage closer to the pivot on the transmission shift fork will reduce the length of throw.
