I thinking i may need one say which ones have good services for a far price. Say arizona to illinois or wisconsin? how much and how long? and are there any that will maybe take longer but cost less?

We just shipped a Charger from Texas to Rhode Island for $750 through Creative Rides, but the brokers are pretty much all the same, they just use a pool of drivers. Your car/price goes on a master board where all the drivers have access. When we shipped ours, the going rate was around $0.35 to $0.40 cents per mile. The higher the per mile price, the quicker you will be picked up. You can give a low-ball price, but unless you have some desperate drivers out there, it might sit for a while. Find a broker (like Creative Rides, etc) that will let you start at a certain price, and gradually increase it until it gets to the point where it will be picked up. We started a bit low ($700 I believe), and a driver came back with a counter offer, and we agreed on the $750 in the end. It only took 2 days for the pickup.

You can also go with a shipper that owns their own trucks (like Horseless Carriage), but you can expect to pay about 50% more.

As far as how long, it depends on if it's door to door, or to a depot. Door to door is faster (which is what we used), and should only take 3-5 days depending on the distance. Personally I would go with door to door, because otherwise your car will be moved on and off transports several times, exposing to a bigger chance of damage.

I hope this helps.

:app: :yourock: Nice post!!! Very helpful!!!

Makes sense but all my cash will most likely be spent on buying the charger. But I got to thinking. What if I got it from being 19 hours away to say 8? Have it shipped to a closer state and dropped off at the depot and we come down and drive it home? Ok so maybe 9 or 10 hours but it would still be 2 or 3 states closer right? (arizona to wisconsin)

For what you'll save in transport money(based on .40cpmx450miles=$180)you'll spend on gas.If the car breaks then you'll really lose out.If you sure of the car and just want the adventure go for it!I've done it both ways,no time for adventure any more.

I used U-ship....It's kind of like e-bay...You post the item your buying eg. (ebay listing)..Then shippers on u-ship bid on shipping the item to you then you decide who to use. I did it and had my 74 Sundance shiped from Indiana to the Niagra border and I pulled it home from there it cost me $600.00 flat...Two shippers here wanted $1000.00 to do it.

Here watch their video

I got a quote from auto zipper for 640 from vermont to wisconsin. Not arizona my mistake... I'll lolk into the other two. So um you guys know how much airline tickets would be?

As screwed up as the airlines are, they could be anywhere from $150 to $1,000, depending on what minute you look.

However, as much fun as it would be to drive it back, keep in mind the summer heat right now, plus no AC (I assume), plus gas money/hotel/contingencies for a breakdown, etc., and the shipping fee looks mighty appealing. We actually priced out renting a U-Haul trailer and taking the car up ourselves, and it was still cheaper to ship it.

Either way, I hope it all works out, and it's the start of some great fun.

DAS. On time, resonable, damage free enclosed shipping.

make sure you pay the extra for the top of the carrier............I had a Cadilliac with a carriage top shipped from Arizona to Pa about 7 years ago and didn't think it was a big deal to pay the extra for the top of the carrier
and when I received the car the roof was full of oil drips from the junk above mine..................The DAS rep said we offered you the top position and you refused so there nothing we can do,

I learned my lesson.............Never did get all those spots out either:no:

Good Luck!!!!
